"I'm on the trail of the unknown!" – Jean Cocteau
Bull Riders, Cowboy Poets, Rodeo Clowns, French Existentialists, Beauty Queens, and Nazi Stormtroopers all crowd into the audio spectrum to contribute their bit toward the re-telling of the tragic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Inspired in part by the plays, poems, operas, drawings and films of Jean Cocteau, and "Black Orpheus," winner of the Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1959, this audio theater collage features music by such diverse artists as Robert Fripp, Aaron Copeland, Elvis Presley, Bob Wills, Edgar Varese, Erik Satie, Francis Polenc, Darius Milhaud, Arthur Honneger, Luiz Bonfa and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
